The discovery of oil weakened many African economies. While over a dozen countries in Sub-Saharan Africa engage in oil production, no systematic economic analysis is carried out in Africa. The ORM program at CSEA will focus on conducting high quality research related to oil revenue management in African countries.

The Center will:

 - Develop databases to provide information regarding production arrangements, revenue and fiscal regimes of oil revenue management in oil-producing countries in sub-Saharan Africa

 - Analyze oil revenue management practices among oil producers in Africa, such as the potential of establishing sovereign wealth funds as well as funds for future generations
